The constituents of the CA48 gathered again this week to show fundamental and broad disapproval of congressman Dana Rohrabacher. Rohrabacher recently mentioned in a New York Times article entitled "He's a Member of Congress. The Kremlin Likes Him So Much It Gave Him a Code Name," that his constituents "couldn't care less about [Russia]... They are concerned about the taxes on their home. They are concerned about illegal immigrants coming into their neighborhood and raping people." The article tells of investigative and political interest in Rohrabacher's August visit to wikileaks founder Julian Assange, and a dinner he had last year with Mike Flynn, who recently closed joint defense agreements with the Trump legal team in the Russia probe.
While Rohrabacher entered a superfluous and ceremonial Nay vote on the tax bill, his dismissal of his constituents' concerns over the Russia scandal, as well as his public stoking of fears of immigrants and despicable racist stereotypes, present powerful reasons to oppose his dangerous bluster and denials about what matters to the people of Orange County. We gathered in front of his offices to voice objection to all the hideous affronts to democracy and decent society that Rohrabacher is party to.
