In these times of hate and violence against migrant asylum seekers at US border, detention centers and prison camps – we must respond to the fear with, joy, hope and power.
Join us July 21st 2019 in Tijuana, Mexico, for our Peace and Paint on the Border: Day of Action of solidarity through creative expression and care. We will be crossing the US -Mexico border on foot to join Activate Labs at Espacio Migrante for their #MascarasMigrante project with migrant children. We will be working with children and adults that have experienced migration and trauma. We will have a Trauma and Conflict Sensitive virtual workshop on zoom. We will head to the Bi-National Friendship Park Garden around noon to continue the day of solidarity with migrants. Activate Labs will be leading a mural touch up painting project, the Border Church will be holding their weekly service and Realmente Communidad will be planting and gardening in the guerrilla garden on the border.
There are multiple food options for lunch in Playas, Tijuana, and we will have a variety of activities for you to participate in.
Our partners, the Haitian Bridge Alliance will facilitate humanitarian delivery for shelters of Tijuana. Please bring only what you can carry.
